Fixes and costs are negotiated between landlords and tenants themselves.

The report is a background for the landlord and tenant to find an agreement and conclude the tenancy.

In General:

  • things that can be cleaned should be cleaned.

You can make a list of cleaning omissions and get a quote from a company or a cleaner you know.

  • things that can be repaired should be repaired.

Again,  you can get your own quotes and discuss this with the landlord.

  • things that are damaged beyond repair or missing should be compensated for or replaced. The age and state of the item at your tenancy start should be taken into consideration when negotiating charges.

If no agreement can be found between the landlord and the tenant either of the parties has the right to raise a tenancy deposit dispute.

Please seek more information regarding deposit disputes with the registered deposit scheme holding your tenancy deposit.
